Servite hangs on to defeat Santa Margarita

Ground. Pound. Control the clock. Rinse and repeat.

Nobody says Servite's offense is pretty. Friars QB Cody Pittman only needed to throw the ball 11 times, in a 17-10 Servite victory over Santa Margarita.

When you have a back like Malik Felton, you tell your quarterback not to make mistakes. Felton had 163 yards rushing, and a touchdown.

Servite has an opportunity to win the Trinity League title outright next week against Orange Lutheran, but they've already clinched a share of it. The Friars have now won 18 consecutive games, dating back to last year.

Meanwhile, Santa Margarita head coach Harry Welch hopes that the Eagles gained Servite's respect.

"There's credibility in the Eagles. I'm very proud to coach them, and I wish I had been able to do more tonight."

You're fighting cancer coach, that's more than enough.
