The Diablos Evan Zeller scored a team-high 24 points in a 87-65 victory over Canyon. Mission Viejo remains undefeated.

Brea puts up fight, but Canyon prevails



Canyon defeated Brea Olinda 65-60 with help from junior guard Devonte Parker who scored 23 points, including five three-pointers in the 3rd quarter.

The Tillers defeated Corona del Mar 50-48 in the Beach Bash tournament. Tustin's Deondre Bryant made the go-ahead layup and took a charge shortly after that sealed the victory.

The Jackrabbits jumped all over Mater Dei, defeating the Monarchs 35-17 in the Pac-5 championship game.

Corona del Mar defeats Garden Grove for Southern championship



Corona del Mar defeated Garden Grove 35-10 to win back-to-back championships in the CIF Southern Division.

Edison beats Villa Park, delivers long-awaited title to coach



The Chargers defeated the Spartans 28-10 in the CIF Southwest championship game. Edison's head coach won his first ever coaching title after making it to the final four times in the last five years.

No. 1 Notre Dame stifles USC



 Trojans fell to the Fighting Irish 22-13. It was their fourth loss in their last five games. Max Wittek had his first career start replacing Matt Barkley throwing a TD but had 2 INT.

Edison advances to title game, defeating Foothill



Edison advanced to the Southwest championship game by defeating Foothill 22-16.

UCLA halts USC, makes statement



The Bruins broke their five-game losing streak against the Trojans in a 38-28 victory. Brett Hundley had a combined 3 TD while Matt Barkley struggled again with turnovers and was knocked out of the game late.

Long Beach Poly stuns Mission Viejo



Long Beach Poly defeated Mission Viejo 21-16 in the quarterfinals of the Pac-5 playoffs. Washington State commit Gerard Wicks and fellow running back Manusamoa Luuga combined for 197 rushing yards and 3 TDs.

USC defense comes alive against Arizona State



After giving up a combined 98 points in their past two games, USC stifled Arizona State in a 38-17 victory. Heisman candidate Marqise Lee had a sensational reverse play in which he juked multiple defenders.

Late FG propels La Habra past Los Alamitos



La Habra defeated Los Alamitos 10-7 in the first round of the Southwest divisino playoffs. Jackson Willard made his first FG of his career. It turned out to be the game-winner.

Foothill gets past Laguna Hills



The Knights defeated the Hawks 17-7 in the first round of the Southwest playoffs.


Oregon hands historic loss to Trojans



The Ducks' Kenjon Barner scorched the Trojans for 321 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns en route to a 62-51 victory over USC.

Game-winning FG in OT propels Newport past Los Al



Newport Harbor kicker Michael Schultz redeemed himself in overtime.

After missing what would have been the game-tying extra point in the 4th quarter, Schultz knocked in a 37-yard field goal in overtime to give his Sailors the 31-28 victory over Los Alamitos.

Included in the video are highlights of the game, and interviews with Newport Harbor’s head coach Jeff Brinkley, and the player with the best name in the county Quest Truxton.

But not to be outdone was Michael Schultz who had one of the most excited post-game interviews you will ever see.

After a disappointing loss last week to Stanford, the Trojans sacked Golden Bear quarterback Zach Maynard seven times on way to a 27-9 victory.

Mater Dei turns back Edison



In a wild and unpredictable game that saw each team turn the ball over three times a piece, Mater Dei had enough to defeat Edison 20-14. Thomas Duarte's amazing leaping catch proved to be the game-winner.

Cypress defense holds off Western

Foothill uses twin attack to beat Fountain Valley



The identical twins, who double as both wide receivers and defensive backs, started together and made the most of it. Julian forced a fumble and had a late interception, while Jarrell had 136 yards receiving with a touchdown.

The Knights will try to break their four-game losing streak to Tustin next week.

A world record was broken for highest backflip over a bar by extreme pogo athlete Kurt Markwardt at 9 feet, 3 inches.

Markwardt broke the record at Pogopalooza 9 which was held at the Fair Square area of the OC Fair. He smashed the previous record of 5 feet, 6 inches.
