World record broken at Pogopalooza



A world record was broken for highest backflip over a bar by extreme pogo athlete Kurt Markwardt at 9 feet, 3 inches.

Markwardt broke the record at Pogopalooza 9 which was held at the Fair Square area of the OC Fair. He smashed the previous record of 5 feet, 6 inches.

The Extreme Rodeo invaded the OC Fair with death-defying games like "The Ring of Fear" and "Toro Totter." Ex-Marines took turns trying to outlast one each other by narrowly avoiding 2-ton bulls.

K-1 hosts open tryout in Venice Beach



K-1 held an open tryout in Venice Beach, where over 200 kickboxers hoped to grab a spot on the circuit.

Judges included UFC superstar Alistair Overeem, and the first K-1 U.S. champion Rick Roufus.

Miracles for Kids provided the opportunity for kids with cancer from CHOC to go out and paddleboard for the first time. The event, Surf & Paddle Summer Camp, was held in Dana Point.

South All-Stars dominate North

 

The South squad continued their recent dominance over the North team, defeating them 32-21. The South's Sean Meyers won offensive MVP while teammate Lopeti Tuipulotu took home the defensive honor.

Lamar Odom returns to Los Angeles

 

Lamar Odom makes his return to Los Angeles, joining the team that drafted him back in 1999, the Clippers. Odom recaps his poor season last year, while dwelling on his prior Clippers career.
