Goal! Soccer demolition derby crashes into OC Fair
The automotive demolition derby crashed into the OC Fair with a different twist.
A 300 pound steel soccer ball was added to the mix. Cars took turns ramming into each other, while trying to score goals.
Doug Klevis of Anaheim has participated in demolition derbys for only four months, but he has fallen in love with the action.
"It's something you do in life to scratch off your bucket list," said Klevis. "Just let me smash up cars. Anywhere else you couldn't do it, but over here, you can."
The crowd really got behind Gary Hile of Lake Forest, after he was left as the sole survivor of his three-car race team. He drove past two cars to score the winning goal, but he isn't much of a soccer fan.
"It's only good entertainment after the game. When they're all fighting."
