Amanda Beard was emotional after her 2nd place in nationals because she qualified for the Pan-Pacific championships. She never expected to place in the top three, and be away from her son.
Chloe Sutton of Mission Viejo also won 1st and qualified. Meanwhile, Michael Phelps finished 4th in the backstroke.
